Peloton Row
I was a designer of Peloton’s first rowing machine, taking it from the earliest research and concepts to product launch.
Early on I led an ergonomic study that provided the engineering and design teams with critical dimensions and ergonomic insights.
We explored many ways to support dynamic full body workouts and make every interaction feel elegant and intuitive.
I contributed two rower designs at the project’s Concept Exit stage that fed into the ultimate design direction for Peloton Row.
I was the lead designer of the monitor arm. Sketches and prototypes helped me define the form, which ultimately dictated how it interfaces with the Peloton Touchscreen and the rower body.
The monitor arm is collapsible for stowage. I spent many rounds iterating on the latch mechanism, working with engineers to achieve a safe, robust, and intuitive solution.
I managed vendor correspondence and design refinement of the foot straps, aiming to always provide clear feedback efficiently and build friendly report with the manufacturing personnel.
I worked with our CMF designer to render an exciting range of color-ways. Our goal was to inspire senior leadership with bold concepts for Peloton’s future look-and-feel.
The design and production of Peloton row was complex, ambitious, and ultimately very successful. My contributions spanned all phases of development with notable design leadership in ergonomics and mechanical interaction points.
