Peloton Tread
Control Bar

2018-2019
Role: Industrial Designer
Team: ID Director, Jason Poure | Lead ID, Alex Chatham

On the Peloton Tread’s control bar, I sought to bring elegance and intuitive function to a highly interactive area of the product.

Prolific prototyping was key to designing the control bar’s tactile features.

I loved exploring different prototype media to achieve the optimal balance of physical accuracy and pace of iteration for each concept.

I made dozens of functional prototypes while designing the control bar. Often I combined several prototyping methods to best approximate the feel of a design concept.

For example, I made realistic overmold part prototypes of the accessory caddy using FDM prints with flexible SLA printed inserts. Making these prototypes myself in-house meant I could review concepts with the team with minimal delay.
